1. Application Eligibility

(1) Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport in compliance with the provisions of Nationality Law of the People’s Republic of China.

(2) Educational background and age limit:

* Applicants should be under the age of 35 years old with a bachelor certificate for master degree.

* Applicants should be under the age of 40 years old with a master certificate for master degree.

  (3) Language Requirements: Provide the English proficiency certificate, or IELTS (6.0 or above), TOEFL (70 or above).

2. Application Time

January 8, 2021 - June 30, 2021 (Applicants for Chinese Government Scholarship should submit their applications before April 30, and other scholarship applicants should submit their applications before May 30).

3. Application Process

Step 1. Online Application

Login the International Student Application System:

Fill in the relevant information truthfully and completely according to the requirements, upload the relevant certificate attachment and pay the application fee of 400 yuan.  

Note: The application fee is not refundable.

Step 2. Visa Application

Before entering China, enrolled applicants should submit the passport, Admission Notice, Visa Application Form for Foreign Students in China, Foreigner Physical Examination Form and other relevant materials to apply for a student visa (X1 or X2) from the Chinese Embassy or Consulate entrusted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China according to his/her study period.

4. Mandatory Documents

(1)  Clear scan copy of passport frontpage.

（2）Original or notarized highest diploma.

（3）Highest record of study: school official transcript and graduation certificate.

（4）Providing a letter to show that English is the learning language during study period, or copy of the official IELTS certificate and/or TOFEL certificate.

（5）Research proposal: Briefly introduce your background, interest, career objective, research areas, and research plan (min. 800 words).

（6）Two recommendation letters: Submit two recommendation letters signed by an associate professor or professor, giving a comprehensive and objective assessment of the applicant's personal situation, study and practical activities.

（7）List of publications.

（8）Acceptance letter from a potential supervisor in NUAA (required for PhD candidates only).

（9）Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form.

（10）Non-criminal record(If it is unavailable due to COVID-19, the applicant can provide a non-criminal record commitment in handwriting);

Note: Please present notarized Chinese or English version if the above materials are neither in Chinese nor in English. Applicants who fail to present all the above materials will not be accepted.

4. NUAA Postgraduate Student Scholarship

NUAA sets up some scholarships for postgraduate students who have good learning attitudes and good academic performances. Students with excellent performance and scores can apply for the postgraduate student Scholarship（20,000 yuan）after the evaluation and the interview.

7. Registration Time

The registration time for the new semester is September 2021, and the specific date is subject to the Admission Notice.
