Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA) is a leading Chinese institution known for its excellence in engineering sciences, including Aeronautics, Astronautics, and Mechanical Engineering, as well as Economics and Management. Among the first national universities authorized to confer doctoral, master, and bachelor degrees, NUAA has been recognized under both the "National Project 211" and the "Double First-Class" initiatives.

Postgraduate Program

NUAA is one of the first few universities in China offering English taught postgraduate programs in Engineering and Business majors since 2005. NUAA currently offers over 30 international postgraduate programs instructed in English with duration of 2.5 to 4 years. Qualified graduates are awarded graduation diploma and degree.

Application Eligibility

•  Non-Chinese citizens with good physical and mental health, and with no criminal record

•  Master under age of 35 years old；Phd under age of 40 years old  

•  Hold a bachelor/master degree

•  IELTS (6.0 or above), TOEFL (70 or above) or equivalent English proficiency letter

•  Have strong academic background, research and innovative ability

•  Complete application online

•  Pay an application fee of 400 RMB and Submit application. This application fee is non-refundable.  

•  Receive the admission letter and JW201/202 via email

•  Apply for X visa at the Chinese Embassy or Consulate General

Application Documents

•  Scanned copy of passport front page

•  The notarized bachelor/master’s degree certificates in Chinese or English

•  The notarized copy of highest academic transcript

•  NUAA Supervisor Acceptance Letter

•  A study plan signed by NUAA supervisors or professors

•  Recommendation letter from Professors or Associate Professors;

•  Physical Examination Record for Foreigner with the blood test report（(issued within last 6 months)

•  Non-criminal record certificate (issued within last 6 months).

•  English Language proficiency certificate

•  Financial Guarantee Letter or bank statement

•  CSC application form（only for CSC applicants）

 Note: All documents must be in English or Chinese, or supplemented by notarized translations. Upload clear scans for review. Bring originals for on-campus verification - no originals, no enrollment.

Scholarships

•  Application Procedure

1.  Applicants for a Chinese Government Scholarship（Type B）should apply on CSC application system and NUAA application system.

2.  Applicants for a Chinese Government Scholarship Bilateral Program（Type A） should directly contact the local Chinese embassy or consulate. When completing the scholarship application form, the applicant should select NUAA as their first choice.

3.  NUAA Fly-high Scholarship or Nanjing Government Scholarship will be based on your background, experiences, academics, and examination/interview results at the time of your admission offer.  

•  Selection Criteria

 The scholarship evaluation is based on, but not limited to, academic performance, personal background, relevant experience, and study plan, and is subject to final approval by the China Scholarship Council (CSC).

•  Renewal & Next Steps

1.  CSC renews annually if academic and conduct requirements are met.

2.  Nanjing Government Scholarship and NUAA Fly-High Scholarship are single-year awards. From Year 2 onward, all students may compete for NUAA Academic Scholarship (up to 20000 RMB) based on annual GPA and comprehensive review.

 The CSC application period may vary by program; please refer to the NUAA application system for the exact dates, which are generally around March and May.
